First attachment

yea..he's coming back to spore...
Going to meet him after my attachment.
There are soo many things tat i wish to tell him...
and ohh...we gotta buy hamster together..xD

Had my first attachment in serangoon "Kwong wai shiu hospital and nursing home"...woke up pretty early like 6am? and got myself dressed up with white dress and wif my hair tied up neatly...wore hush puppies black shoe which looked soo disgusting...totally spoiling the whole image of the nice outfit larh!! wish i could throw it away and buy a nicer black shoe elsewhere...too bad i can't!! cos it's a must to wear tat and it cost mie like $40...well i can't be bothered also..not as if im going for some fashion show or wad...

i knew buz 139 got go there...but...i duno which stop to stopped norx!! soo i ended in whampoa drive..zzz and i took a cab down to the place..which cost mie $5!! not too bad..but still expensive..it's just a short journey..haish..peck hour ma..somemore soo hard to hail a cab in the morning la..all not available...zzz..but thank goodness..that doesn't make mie late..haha!! infact i reached there 15 minutes earlier...

well tat building seemed soo weird la..it seemed soo new yet their facilities are so old...tat's include chair with some chinese wording and drawing on it.. which most probably can only be found in the temple?? haha!! cldn't discribed how weird it is nor..the ward is onli like 1 storey high and each ward only have 18 beds? and there is soo little wards...then there is chinese physician whereby people from outside can go in to see doctor? and the most importantly, it's not air conditioned!! piang ehh..the weather is soo hot la..plus tmr i'm wearing a pant and a blouse lo..sure hot like hell!!

and ohh ya...i love their lift man..though is a lift..but it's not functioning nor..yea it does..bt not for staff or patient one la...duno for what purposes also..and their lift just look soo cute la..the lift door is not make of steel one..it looked like our hse toilet door la..foldable type...haha!! like ancient old lift..just tat it's slightly abit advance onli...LOL...

Basically we can't do much as a year 1 Student Nurse...we did nothing in the ward..and is soo darn sian..!! keep looking at the clock..and hoping the time can pass faster...what we can do is to assess the patient whenever they asked for help? basically what we did there is to observe the patients and to see how the nurses handle the patients...ooh ya!! the ward tat i was posted to is all cancer patients...soo basically when there isn't anything much to observe...we will take a look at individual casenote...basically i had memorised what kind of cancer each patient have lah...cool rite?

Only from these casenote, we can questioned our doubt and to gain knowledge from there...learnt quite a lot of stuff through attachment...didn't noe tat patient who went for radio therapy must eat high protein food..LOL!! didn't noe tat patient who went for radio therapy, their skin will dry up and if it get worse it will rot... x_x Didn't noe that some patients have to pass motion from the side of the body cos their rectal muscle are not powerful enough to pass the faeces out...such cases is call metastatic rectal carcinoma...and i learnt how faeces is being wash out of the colonstomy bag [a bag where the large intestine is connected to in order to pass motion]..it doesn't look gross to mie..but it stink alot...cldn't even breath larh!!

yep also learnt about tube feeding..and what must we do before we even feed the patient using the tube...eg: check the PH in the stomach using litmus paper, and check if the tube is correctly inserted into the stomach. oooh yea i learnt a new word.."Hyperlipidemia"...it mean too much of lipids in the body...Last and not least we saw how the nurse transfer the patients to the wheelchair.

ooh yea..i noe i gotta learn more language..must learn hokkein, must learn teochew, must learn malays..haha!! cos i realised tat i couldn't communicate with patients who speak foreign language with mie...haha!! and i will answered them with some alien languange like "huh?" LOLx..btw the patients are soo cute larhx...they are old but they can joke with nurses..haha!! soo pei fu them...they are cancer patients yet they behave soo strong like as if nothing is wronged in their body...yep this is what we called "life still have to go on, instead of living in this world feeling so depressed, why not stay happily and funky for the rest of ur life"?

ooOOhh...i just lub the nurses there larhx!
they are soo nice to approch too..
they are willing to teach and guide us...

But one thing i wish to highlight on...
they didn't ensure PATIENT'S PRIVACY...LOL..!!
they didn't wash their hand using the 7 steps!!
they never hand rub before assessing the patients!!
they never use alcohol swap at all
they are not well dressed...!!
X- Hair not bun up
X- They wear watch on the hand
X- They put rings
X- They have more than 1 ear ring
X- Doesn't have proper shoe wear

ooohh well i'm just following the Nursing Rules..haha xD

and oohh...our TRAINER WAS LATE FOR 2 MINS!!

ERM..according to the hospital rules...
When you are late for:
- 0 to 10 mins: replace 30 mins
- 11 to 30 mins: replace 90 mins
- 31 to 60 mins: replace 3 hours
- More than 61 mina: replace 1 full day

and my trainer is a Guy..
and his hair is long...[touches his collar]

OMG!! how lame can i be man..haha!! xD

ooohh~ Nursing is soo fun
Didn't regret taking it..
There is soo much to learn
Soo much to noe..
